Get off the threadmill

According to the founding father of behaviour economy theory (in my book at least), Daniel Kahneman, there is a principle named The Customer Satisfaction Treadmill.

  • The faster we get it, the faster we want it.
  • The more convenient it becomes, the more we realize just how convenient it could be.
  • The more our unreasonable demands are met, the more unreasonable they become.

In other words. Listen to your gutfeeling. Sometimes you should not please your surroundings. Both in proffesional and private life.

I will write more extensive on this topic on Taste As Real.
